Participants will explore the history of soap-making, the role of natural oils and ingredients, and the science behind this centuries-old craft. Following a live demonstration, participants will create their own batch of cold process soap under guided instruction.
Each participant will have the opportunity to make approx. 10 bars of handmade soap and leave with a complete soap-making kit, enabling you to continue the practice at home. The kit includes personal protective equipment (PPE), a reusable professional mould, heat-safe jugs and tools made from appropriate materials, detailed recipe sheets, and a workshop handbook.
All materials are selected to support safe and accessible home soap-making using readily available ingredients.
No prior experience is needed. This workshop is calm, practical, and focused on learning a skill that is useful, satisfying, and deeply rooted in tradition.
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
•Understand the historical significance of soap-making as a traditional domestic craft
•Identify the core ingredients used in cold process soap-making and their functions
•Gain practical knowledge of safe handling procedures and equipment selection
•Observe and participate in the cold process soap-making method
•Develop the confidence to independently make soap at home using provided recipes
•Take home a complete soap-making kit, handbook, and finished soap to support continued practice
